Approach to care

Dr. Weiner's approach to clinical care is "patient first." Every individual has a unique set of life experiences and circumstances, and that makes each patient's thoughts on the best treatment for their cancer unique. His goal is to help patients arrive at the best management option for them while educating them on the most current and highest-level evidence-based medicine.

He trained as both a surgeon and a scientist because the questions that shape patients' lives, "do I need treatment?" and "which one?", are answered better when those two perspectives sit together. He does not push anyone toward treatments they do not need, and does not withhold aggressive care from patients who do.
